The Giving Tree
Churchill Square Partners with Rockinghorse Children's Charity for Annual Giving Tree Initiative
Brighton's premier shopping destination transforms Christmas shopping into acts of kindness for Sussex children in need
Churchill Square is proud to announce the continuation of its cherished partnership with Rockinghorse Children's Charity for their annual Giving Tree campaign, bringing Christmas magic to vulnerable children across Sussex.
The Giving Tree initiative invites shoppers to transform their Christmas visits into meaningful acts of compassion. Two festive trees, located outside Skechers and The Perfume Shop, are decorated with gift tags representing real children throughout Sussex – from little ones in hospital dreaming of cuddly toys to teenagers facing hardship who simply wish for art supplies.
"Churchill Square's Giving Tree transforms Christmas shopping into an act of pure love for children who need it most," said Mark Buchanan-Smith, Meeting Place Manager at Churchill Square. "By choosing a tag, buying the suggested gift, and dropping it unwrapped at Customer Service before Christmas Eve, our visitors become part of something truly magical."
Simple Steps to Share the Magic
The participation process is designed for maximum convenience:
Step 1: Visit the Giving Trees outside Bershka or Mango, where festive displays feature gift tags showing each child's age and gift suggestion.
Step 2: Select a tag that resonates, whether helping a 3-year-old who would love a teddy bear or a 12-year-old hoping for a book.
Step 3: Purchase the requested item from Churchill Square stores, keeping gifts unwrapped for proper distribution.
Step 4: Deliver gifts with original tags to Customer Service before Christmas Eve, ensuring every present reaches its intended recipient.
Gift suggestions range in price and any contribution is welcomed. Churchill Square gift cards are also available for donation, providing flexibility for families to choose appropriate gifts.
Partnership Impact
Rockinghorse Children's Charity has supported Sussex children for over 50 years, providing funding for medical equipment, family support services, and special projects that make tangible differences to children's lives. Through this partnership, Churchill Square ensures donated gifts reach children who need them most.
"Through our partnership with Rockinghorse Children's Charity, your gift doesn't just reach a child – it delivers hope to an entire family during their darkest moments, proving that strangers can become guardian angels," said Mark Buchanan-Smith. “The initiative creates ripples of kindness extending far beyond Christmas morning, showing children that their community cares while giving families hope during difficult times and creating lasting memories.”
Churchill Square invites the Brighton community to visit today, select a tag from the Giving Trees, and help share Christmas magic with every child in Sussex.
