    Churchill Square Celebrates Student Night

Churchill Square Celebrates Successful Student Shopping Night with Over 5,000 Attendees

Brighton's premier shopping destination welcomes new students with exclusive entertainment, discounts, and community spirit

Brighton & Hove, 9th October 2025 – Churchill Square is delighted to announce the outstanding success of its annual Student Shopping Night, which welcomed over 5,000 students to Brighton & Hove's vibrant shopping community.

The evening featured an exciting lineup of entertainment, including the return of Elton Wrong, performances by a Circus Brass Band, and DJ sets from Gaydio on the decks. The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership was also present, raising awareness of food waste hacks through interactives games and Ikea giveaways, including how to sort food packaging. This marks the start of wider community initiatives with the Food Partnership and Community Kitchen on Queens Road.

Students enjoyed exclusive discounts and giveaways throughout the evening, designed specifically to welcome new arrivals to the Brighton & Hove area. First-time participant IKEA added to the excitement with their popular "Spin to Win" giveaways and special offers on student essentials.

"We're delighted with the turnout and the positive energy from our student community," said Mark Buchanan-Smith, Meeting Place Manager at Churchill Square. "This event perfectly demonstrates our commitment to supporting students and creating memorable experiences that bring our community together."

The successful event also highlighted Churchill Square's enhanced shopping hours, now open until 8pm Monday through Saturday, providing students and shoppers with greater flexibility and more time to enjoy all the centre has to offer.

Churchill Square continues to serve as a central hub for the Brighton & Hove community, fostering connections between local businesses, students, and residents through innovative events and extended accessibility.
